PDP primaries: Federal lawmaker, Sule-Garo defeats brother to win Reps ticket
A member of the House of Representatives representing Gwarzo / Kabo Federal Constituency of Kano State ,Alhaji Nasiru Sule-Garo, has defeated his younger brother to clinch the House of Representatives ticket on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Sule-Garo, an elder brother of Kwankwaso’s wife, defeated his sibling identified as Faruk Sule-Garo at the Gwarzo/Kabo Federal Constituency primary election.
The returning officer, Dr Salisu Muhammadu Tudunkaya, who announced the result of the election, said Nasiru polled 173 votes to defeat his brother, Faruk who got only 12 votes.
Tundunkaya stated that 198 accredited delegates participated in the voting, adding that 13 votes were declared invalid.
” I, Dr Salisu Muhammad Tudunkaya, chairman primary election committee of PDP, hereby announced Nasiru Sule-Garo as the winner of this keenly contested primary election.
“A total of 198 delegates were accredited and 13 votes were invalid. The result is thus: Faruk Sule-Garo got 12 votes while Nasiru Sule-Garo got 173 votes.
“With this result, Nasiru Sule-Garo is the winner and is hereby declared as the flag bearer of PDP in the forthcoming general election, “ Tudunkaya said.
