I Am Commited To PMB’s Re-election – Goni

The national chairman of the Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari/Osibanjo (GMBO) Dr. Fatima Mohammed Goni, has debunked insinuations that she has collapsed her structure into the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar, ahead of 2019 election. Goni disclosed that she remains committed to working hard for the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.

 Addressing a press conference in her office yesterday , Goni said ,it was the handiwork of some members of her group led by  Yusuf Musa Ardo. 

She said those that were suspended are behind such move with the intent to bring Grassroots Mobiliers for Buhari/ Osinbajo (GMBO) into disrepute before the public especially among the supporters of Buhari. According to her, six suspended executives members of the GMBO allegedly used the name, logo and letterheads of the organisation to write and make a public declaration in support of Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate.

Goni said, “And luckily enough when I got information, I quickly went investigation and discovered the business center where they used my organisation letter headed paper to draft the letter and forged my signature that I have collapsed my structure to support the Atiku Abubakar campaign organisation which were not true.” She said she has been able to retrieve a copy of the letter and presented to the Inspector General Police (IGP), Ibrahim Idris, saying the IGP has already directed the assistant police commissioner to investigate the matter. Goni, added that the suspended members of the GMBO have for quite sometimes been using her organization with a forged signature to defraud some politicians with the intent of working for Buhari in 2019.

According to her, this led to suspension and expulsion of some of the members. She, however, noted that the time and energy as well efforts put in steering the organization are with the intention that the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, remains the right choice and the best for the nation. She, therefore, urged members of the public especially supporter of APC and Buhari to disregard any insinuations making round that she plan to join Atiku campaign organization. “Besides, we in the Grassroots Mobilizers for Buhari/Osinbajo are volunteers for nation building as our voluntary mobilization efforts for President Muhammadu Buhari, is neither for sale or salable, ” she added.
