Europa League: BATE shock Arsenal, Chelsea win
Arsenal have it all to do next when they host BATE Borisov at the Emirates, after they fell 1-0 to the Belarussian side on Thursday night, in the first leg of their Europa round of 32 tie.
Stanislav Dragun scored the only goal just before the break, to seal a shock victory for the hosts.
Ross Barkley and Olivier Giroud each scored as Chelsea beat Malmo 2-1 in their own fixture in Sweden.
The win at Swedbank Stadion, provides a bit a relief for embattled boss Maurizio Sarri, following Sunday’s 6-0 drubbing to Manchester City.
In other matches, Benfica won 2-1 at Galatasaray, Rapid Wien lost 1-0 at home to Inter Milan, Sevilla defeated Lazio 1-0 and Valencia recorded an impressive 2-0 victory over Celtic.
