Yobe APC guber aspirant vows to challenge outcome if not free, fair

One of the leading aspirants in the govenorship primary election in Yobe State, Hon. Sidi Yakubu Karasuwa has vowed to challenge the outcome of the primary election in the state if the process is not free and fair.

Karasuwa is one of the aspirants for the governorship election that has refused to step down for the National Secretary of the APC, Alh. Mai Mala Buni who has been annointed by Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam to succeed him.

The current member House of Representatives for Karasuw/Nguru/Yusufari/Machina Federal constituency and two times director general of Gov. Ibrahim Gaidam campaign Organisation told our correspondent that its within his constitutional right and APC party guidelines that he is insisting to have go for the primaries.

According to him, “the delegates deserve the right to decide on the choice of a candidate but for an individual to hand-pick a personal against the wishes of people is unconstitutional.

“I know that my chances are bright to emerge victorious if the process is free and fair. However, in the event where thw process is otherwise, i will challenge it to the appropriate authorities,” Karasuwa said.

Asked whether he is angry to have refused all negotiations, Karasuwa said; “you can only go for negotiate when you are called. Agreed, some people met me but i am not convinced to jettison my ambition. What i am doing is for the best of Yobe State and i cannot disappont my supporters. We will go into the elections,” he said.

Investigation revealed that talks are still going on between Karasuwa and sime member of the mediation committee as at 3am this morning.
