PDP vs APC: ‘Go, possess your possession’ – Urhobo monarchs tell Ogboru
Traditional rulers in Urhobo land, under the leadership of the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM Ovie Richard Layaiguen, the Ogoni-Oghoro 1, has offered prayers for the victory of the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Chief Great Ogboru.
The prayer session held on Thursday at the palace of Ohworode, the monarchs said, was necessitated by the fact that Ogboru has suffered for too long while trying to govern the State.
The traditional rulers, therefore, decreed that this time around, Ogboru must possess his possession and would emerge victorious the same way Sen Omo-Agege triumphed in 2015 and 2019 come Saturday.
The Ohworode, a centenarian, in joint prayers with the Ovie of Ughelli Kingdom, Ovie of Uvwie, the Ovie of Oruarivie, Ovie of Ogor Kingdom and Umiaghwa kingdoms of Abraka kingdoms, among others, prayed God Almighty for the APC candidate’s victory at the Saturday governorship poll.
Speaking after the prayer session, Senator representing Delta Central, Chief Ovie Omo-Agege, urged Urhobo traditional rulers to support their son, Chief Ogboru, so that the Urhobo nation could experience speedy development.
“Delta State and Urhobo nation cannot afford to be in the opposition in the new dispensation,” he said.
Earlier, Chief Ogboru vowed to restore the glory of the Urhobo nation.
He acknowledged that having survived several trials in the past through the prayers of the monarchs, he was sure of victory come Saturday.z
