Jonathan’s ex-aide, Omokri reveals ‘role Buhari played as Abacha jailed Abiola
The former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri has disclosed what he called the role President Muhammadu Buhari played when ex-Military Head of State, Sani Abacha jailed MKO Abiola.
Omokri disclosed that Buhari was an accomplice to Abacha when the business mogul was jailed, after the then election was annulled.
Abiola, who was the acclaimed winner of the June 12,1993 presidential election, was jailed by Abacha.
However, Omokri made the claim while faulting the call by Abiola’s son, Jamiu that Nigerians should vote for Buhari in the forthcoming Presidential election.
In a tweet, the former presidential aide insisted that Jamie was dishonouring his father by asking Nigerians to vote for Buhari.
“Dear Jamiu Abiola,
“Voting for @MBuhari does NOT honour your father because when Abacha threw your father in jail, he had an accomplice by his side whose duty it was to legitimise his government and that man’s name is Buhari. Voting Buhari is a dishonour to your dad,” he tweeted.
