2023: Why Buhari, APC will not hand over presidency to South East – PDP chieftain, Suleiman Ukandu
Suleiman Ukandu, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party and member of Abia State Advisory Council, has told Ndigbo that President Muhammadu Buhari will not hand over to an Igbo man in 2023 as being touted by members of All Progressives Congress from south east zone.
He claimed that Buhari and the All Progressives Congress, APC, had already sold out 2023 presidential ticket to the South west and cautioned the governing party members of Igbo extraction to desist from deceiving people of south east with such promises.
Ukandu, who spoke in an interview with FAZENOTETV on Sunday, emphasised that the quest for south east zone to produce Nigeria President in 2023 was the conventional right of Igbo race.
He said, “There is a conventional arrangement that power rotates between the north and South. Everybody knows that 2023 belongs to the south east.
“It is not in the hand of anybody. It is not in the hand of APC. Is it in the hand of Buhari. This is a complete conventional right of the South east zone to produce a president in 2023.
“And I want to caution those who using it as a campaign tool, to desist from it. The Igbos have come of age. We know our right. We know what belongs to us”
The PDP stalwart continued, “South east zone will not smell the presidency because they have already sold out 2023 to the South west. No one should come and deceive you here in south east that we are going to get Igbo Presidency in 2023″.
“We cannot actualize the Igbo presidency under Buhari. It is a fallacy of all. That is a deceit. And some of our Igbo brothers who are opportune to be in power under this administration, they are using it to deceive our people.
“They are trying to bring us back to the era of slavery. We want to emancipate ourselves. Nobody should tell us that he is doing us favour in our own right.
Ukandu added that, ” Those going around, deceiving native minds that the Buhari administration is a short way for an Igbo presidency should stop. It is an insult to the sensibility of the south eastern race.”
