Nigeria Election: Ben Bruce defends Atiku, attacks Oshiomhole
Ben Murray-Bruce, the Senator representing Bayelsa East has slammed the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole, over his statement coverncerning Atiku Abubakar.
FAZE NOTE TV had reported that Oshiomhole while responding to Atiku’s threat to contest his presidential election loss in court said the PDP presidential candidate was a “political rolling stone” that was not destined to be Nigeria’s president.
Oshiomhole said, “Leadership is about character, Atiku’s desperation is so obvious, he is so desperate, and it is on record that he challenged his own boss, former President Olusegun Obasanjo not to do a second term.”
“He is such a political rolling stone. Does he think Nigerians are so insane? Atiku is a man who is not stable, and has no conviction,” Oshiomhole added.
But, reacting, Bruce countered Oshiomhole, noting that Atiku has what it takes to be a president and fix Nigeria’s economy.
He further urged Oshiomhole to focus his attention on reviving the economy rather than mocking Atiku.
Bruce in his official Twitter page wrote: “Atiku has what it takes to fix the economy. Sadly, the elections were far from perfect and we are where we are now.
“I rather think someone like Adams Oshiomhole should direct his attention to the fact that the NSE has lost ₦400 billion since the election than in mocking Atiku.
“Power is sweet. But not so sweet that one can’t do without it or walk away from it. I walked away from it. I voluntarily stepped down to honour a rotational agreement in my zone. I am saying this because those who think the PDP is finished do not understand power.”
