APC disqualifies Shittu, Alhassan guber race
The All Progressives Congress has disqualified the Minister of Communication, Barrister Adebayo Shittu and his Women Affairs counterpart, Aisha Jummai Alhassan from participating in Saturday’s governorship primaries of the party.
While the party said Barrister Shittu was disqualified for not presenting his NYSC discharge certificate, no reason was given for the disqualification of the Minister for Women Affairs popularly known as Mama Taraba.
Four others were disqualified from participating in the exercise while 166 other aspirants were cleared to participate, with one withdrawing from the contest.
Among those cleared is the National Secretary of the party, Mai MALA Buni believed to be the anointed candidate of the Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam and the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, Nsima Ebere.
Others disqualified are Chief Osiobe Eric Okotie (Delta), Ejikeme Ugwu (Enugu), Ibrahim Mohammed Mera (Kebbi) and Danladi Envulu-Anza (Nasarawa)
The party however shifted the governorship primary from Saturday, September 29 to Sunday, September 30, while all other primaries are to go ahead as scheduled.
