Transfer: Super Eagles goalkeeper, Uzoho leaves Deportivo La Coruna
Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho, has joined Spanish Segunda division club, Elche FC, on a season-long loan deal from Deportivo La Coruna.
Uzoho, who was Nigeria’s first choice at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, was looking to move to a club where he will play regular football after his sudden rise to international stardom.
“The club and the R.C. Deportivo de la Coruña have agreed the transfer of goalkeeper Francis Uzoho on a one-year loan deal which comes after he played for Nigeria at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia,” reads a statement on Elche’s official website on Friday.
The 19-year-old will have his medical at the club on Monday and meet up his new team-mates afterwards.
Uzoho made two appearances for Deportivo La Coruna in the LaLiga last season.
He, however, played 28 games with the club’s B side, Deportivo La Coruna Fabril in the Segunda B.
