Presidency: Buhari has no new bank accounts, houses
GOING by the Assets Declaration Forms submitted yesterday by President Muhammadu Buhari to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), he has added virtually nothing to his assets in the past four years.
The President has not built any house, opened no new bank accounts and acquired no new shares since he took the last oath of office.
The President submitted his assets declaration forms to the CCB in Abuja yesterday — in compliance with the Constitution stipulating that such documents must be before his oath-taking scheduled for today.
A statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media & Publicity, Garba Shehu, said that the duly completed forms were submitted to the CCB Chairman, Prof Mohammed Isa, on behalf of the President’s Senior Special Assistant on Household & Domestic Affairs, Sarki Abba.
The statement reads: “The forms, as signed by the President and sworn to before a Judge of an Abuja High Court showed no significant changes in assets as declared in 2015 by him.
“There are no new houses, no new bank accounts at home and abroad and there are no new shares acquired.”

The CCB chairman was said to have commended the President for leading by example by declaring his assets in accordance with the law.
Also yesterday, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo submitted his assets declaration forms.
A statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Laolu Akande, said: “Ahead of the oath-taking ceremony slated for tomorrow, 29 May 2019 and in compliance with the requirement of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (as amended), Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, has submitted his assets declaration forms to the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).
“The submission by the Vice President follows right after President Muhammadu Buhari submitted his forms.
“The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Research, Legal and Compliance Matters, Office of the Vice President, Dr. Balkisu Saidu, submitted the completed forms to the Chairman of the CCB, Professor Mohammed Isa, on behalf of the Vice President.
“Compared with the assets Prof. Osinbajo declared in 2015, the forms show no significant changes in his assets; as there are no new real properties, shareholding or bank accounts.”
