EPL: Mourinho reveals why he dropped Paul Pogba in Man United’s win over Fulham
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, has explained why he dropped midfielder, Paul Pogba in his side’s Premier League 4-1 victory over Fulham on Saturday.
Goals from Ashley Young, Juan Mata, Romelu Lukaku and Marcus Rashford gave Mourinoh’s men a deserve three points against the hosts.
Mourinho said his decision not to feature Pogba against Fulham was because of the player’s ‘mentality’.
When asked why Pogba did not feature against Fulham, Mourinho was quoted by ESPN as saying after the match: “He has to play with the same mentality as the team is playing.
“Paul can be a fantastic player, he has the potential to be a fantastic player.
“Against Valencia [on Wednesday] he is going to start and have a fantastic football game to play and to show everybody how good he is.”
Mourinho’s side now sit on sixth position on the Premier League table with 26 points from 16 games.
The Red Devils will now tackle Liverpool next week Sunday in the Premier League fixture.
