Lesotho have rejected a request by the Super Eagles that today’s 2021 AFCON qualifier in Maseru be brought forward so that the Nigerian delegation could still fly back tonight after the game.

Lesotho have rejected a request by the Super Eagles that today’s 2021 AFCON qualifier in Maseru be brought forward so that the Nigerian delegation could still fly back tonight after the game.
The game has been fixed for 6pm local time, which is 5pm in Nigeria.
However, SCORENigeria learnt that Nigeria officials pleaded with the host team Lesotho if the game could be brought forward to 3pm so that the team could still fly back to Nigeria before the Maseru airport is closed down by 6pm.
With this rejection it is now not clear if the Nigerian contingent will still depart Lesotho tonight.
The Eagles foreign-based pros are also far from happy that they will play this first-ever encounter between the two countries on artificial pitch.
Coach Gernot Rohr had earlier expressed his fears about this.
Last year, the Eagles played on such a pitch in Seychelles, where they labored to a 2-0 win.
Nigeria lead Group L with three points, Lesotho and Sierra Leone recorded a point apiece after a 1-1 draw in Freetown on Wednesday.
