Kano: Ganduje close down all rehabilitation centres, gives deadline for evacuation of inmates

The Kano State Government has ordered for the immediate closer of all private reformatory centres operating in state for alleged abuse of human rights.

This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman Technical Committee on remodeling Almajiri system of education in Kano State and obtained by FAZENOTETV.

He explained that the directives followed after receiving the interim report on the inspection and assessment of privately run reformatory centers by the committee by the executive governor.

“Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje ordered for the immediate closer of all privately run reformatory centers operating in the state pending on the establishment of appropriate law stipulating the guidelines for operation of such centers.

“The Governor also ordered parents and guidance to immediately collect their children from such centers within three days.”

FAZENOTETV reported that Kano State Government had recently discovered a notorious reformatory centre and rescued 39 persons in chains.
