Lagos CJ bows out
utgoing Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Opeyemi Oke was on Thursday pulled out at a colourful ceremony.
The event was also marked with the inauguration of a handbook for use of court registrars.
Justice Oke will officially retire on Monday when she turns 65.
The inauguration of the handbook, held at court’s Foyer, was attended by judges, magistrates and others.
Justice Oke said the handbook was developed to guide the court registrars to ensure they give effective service to litigants and the people.

She said the appointment of legal practitioners as registrars was novel in the nation’s judiciary, adding that it was done to improve service.
According to her, the court registrars would work as head of the judges’ chambers and function effectively to improve operations of the court.
Justice Oke said plans were on also appoint more legal practitioners as registrars in the magistrates’ courts.
The ceremony was performed by the police. It featured a parade and an inspection of ‘the Guards’ by the Chief Judge.
There was also a drama sketch by Kiniso Koncepts titled, ‘Just Service’ which also chronicled the achievements of Justice Oke in office.
